FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

June 14, 2007

Contact: Michael Auriemma
516.333.4800

Auriemma Consulting Group and Marcus Motorsports Head North for the Weekend

WESTBURY, N.Y. — Auriemma Consulting Group (ACG) and Marcus Motorsports have their gear packed. Their truck is on the road. The #49 Porsche 997 ACG - Marcus Motorsports car is headed to Mosport International Raceway in Bowmanville, Ontario for round six of Grand-Am's KONI Challenge Series.
The team is hoping to extend its streak of two consecutive podium finishes after a win at the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca and a second place finish at Lime Rock Park, both in May. “We are pulling out all the stops for this trip,” says Michael Auriemma, President of Auriemma Consulting Group. “Of course we can't share all of our secrets, but we can tell you that we have a special guest driver for the weekend.”
Lead driver Spencer Pumpelly's ability to pedal Porsches around race tracks is obvious. And the #49's ability to find the front of the pack is clear as well. “For Mosport, we thought we'd improve our chances by pairing Spencer with NASCAR road course hired gun, Johnny Miller,” Auriemma says.
Miller competed in NASCAR Nextel Cup Series road races from 2003 through 2006 and ran as high as third at Watkins Glen International for the NASCAR Nextel Cup in 2005.
Most recently, Miller has worked with NASCAR NEXTEL Cup and Busch Series teams as a road course instructor and engineering consultant. He served in these roles while also driving and developing Daytona Prototype, GT and Cup cars in the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series. He was the 2003 Trans-Am road racing drivers’ championship runner-up with one win, two poles and eight top-three finishes in 10 races. He boasts more than 100 career wins, numerous poles, podiums and track records in various race series, including Trans-Am, International Motor Sports Association, American LeMans Series, GT America Stock Car Series and Sports Car Club of America.
The weekend’s schedule is fairly compressed, with practices on Friday and Saturday mornings. Qualifying takes place at 10:45 a.m. Saturday, and the green flag for the 2½-hour race drops at 1:15 p.m. on Saturday.
Stay tuned for updates, highlights and results.

About ACG:

Auriemma Consulting Group is a management consulting firm that specializes in the payment systems industry. The company was founded in 1984 and has offices in New York and London.

About Marcus Motorsports:

Marcus Motorsports builds and prepares race cars for both professional and amateur road racing series. With more than 20 years of experience in motorsports, founder Steve Marcus is both an accomplished racer and team owner with successful efforts in Grand American's Rolex and KONI Challenge Series. In 2006, the Virginia-based team finished second in the Grand-Am Cup team championship in only its first year in the series.

About Spencer Pumpelly:

Spencer is a class winner at the Rolex 24 At Daytona, winning the GT race in 2006. He's a multiple-race winner in Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series and KONI Challenge Series competitions, and was the runner up in the 2006 Grand-Am Cup driver's championship. Spencer currently competes in the Grand American GT class in the #67 TRG Porsche 997 and returns for his second season with the Marcus Motorsports team in the #49 GS Porsche 997.

Here are more details on the Grand-Am KONI Challenge Series:

The Grand-Am KONI Challenge Series is Grand-Am's showcase for the latest in international and American-made high performance sports cars, coupes and sedans straight from the dealer showroom floor. With major modifications permitted only in the area of safety, the KONI Challenge Series is home to the same cars seen on streets and highways around the world every day. The 2007 season marks the seventh year that Grand-Am has owned and sanctioned the KONI Challenge Series, which was previously known as the KONI Challenge Series Series before KONI signed-on as the title sponsor of the series in late 2006.

The starting fields for KONI Challenge Series races typically feature more than 50 of today's hottest import and domestic production cars that usually race together while competing for both class honors and the overall victory. Series races--which will be 400 kilometers in length except for the three-hour season-opener at Daytona and twin six-hour events to close the season at Virginia International Raceway--are primarily run as the featured support events for the Rolex Sports Car Series presented by Crown Royal Special Reserve, although the KONI Challenge Series will step into the spotlight with a few feature races of its own in 2007.

Like the Rolex Series, the KONI Challenge Series is made up of two classes of race cars. The big-bore Grand Sport (GS) class features a rules package that allows exotic international machines like the Porsche 996 and 997, Nissan 350Z, BMW M3 and others to go head-to-head with American iron such as the Pontiac GTO and the Ford Mustang GT. The smaller Street Tuner (ST) class is Grand American's offering to the import and compact car crowd, with the Mazda RX-8, Chevrolet Cobalt SS, Dodge SRT4, Mini Cooper S, Acura RSX and TSX, a variety of BMWs and other models eligible. In 2007, the GS and ST classes will run separately from each other in every race with the exception of the Daytona opener and at Watkins Glen International in July.

All KONI Challenge Series classes run on Hoosier tires, and at least two drivers must drive in each competing race car under green flag conditions, making at least one driver change mandatory.

Beginning in 2007, the KONI Challenge Series will include a separate points race for competitors using KONI shocks, which will be considered an independent championship throughout the season. This "championship within a championship" will be worth $10,000 to the top point earners in both the Grand Sport (GS) and Street Tuner (ST) classes using KONI shocks.

Johnny Miller will be competing as a “hired gun” road racing specialist in the NASCAR Dodge Save Mart 350 at Infineon Raceway on June 25th. Miller noted, "It was good to get the call and vote of confidence from Bob Jenkins, owner of Front Row Motorsports, to pilot the #34 Oak Glove Monte Carlo on this challenging road course. I'm thankful for getting such an elite opportunity and I can't wait to get to Sonoma."

Entering into the weekend with zero testing or seat time, Miller, an engineering graduate from the University of Tennessee with over 20 years of racing experience, is up the challenge like the one facing him and the team. Miller acknowledges, "There are only seven slots available, so we will have to utilize all the driving and engineering resources the team and I can find in order to get up to speed quickly. I am looking forward to working with Mike Steurer and the Front Row Motorsports team. We are going to have to build that most important driver/crew chief/team relationship in about 45 minutes total...should be fun!"

This will be Miller's fourth NASCAR event since his debut at Infineon Raceway in June 2003 with Morgan-McClure Motorsports. In that event, he finished 24th place and on the lead lap. Later in the 2003 season at Watkins Glen, he ran as high as 4th position before a mechanical failure relegated him to a 36th place finish.

Miller's recent NASCAR appearance was with Front Row Motorsports in 2005 at Watkins Glen where he earned a lead lap 29th place finish after running as high as 3rd. During the race he struggled with carburetor problems which severely affected his track position following all restarts.

Most recently, Johnny Miller has been developing Daytona Prototype and GT cars in Grand-Am competition, and is also working as a development driver for several international tire manufacturers. Miller finished second in the 2003 Trans-Am Series Championship, after earning a Trans-Am victory, two poles and scoring eight podium finishes in 10 starts. Miller won the 1996 Trans-Am Rookie of the Year award, and was voted BBS Most Improved Driver by his fellow competitors in 1998. Miller was the 1984 Chrysler-Dodge National Collegiate Driving champion and has had more than 100 career victories, numerous poles, podiums and track records in several race series, including Trans-Am, Grand-Am, IMSA, ALMS, GT-America and SCCA.

Tiffin, Ohio – April 30, 2006 The ASC Motorsports Corvette C6 driven by Zach Arnold and Johnny Miller overcame a serious practice setback to post a respectable and hard-earned 14th place GT class finish in the Grand Am Rolex Sports car Series race at VIRginia International Raceway.

The team began the weekend at the scenic and hilly 3.27 mile road course in Southern Virginia with a good setup on the car for the promoter’s test day. Arnold and Miller posted quick times in the rainy conditions as the practice sessions got underway. And, in what has become one of ASC Motorsports’ strong points, the crew continued to fine-tune and improve the setup to meet the track conditions.

However, late in the session, disaster struck when a front suspension part broke and the Corvette slid through the wet grass and crashed hard into the tire barrier. Using the team’s expanded stock of spare body parts and chassis components, the crew did a phenomenal job of rebuilding the front end.

Although the team missed the first official practice session while awaiting delivery of new shocks, the car was ready for the second session and posted the 8th fastest time among the 20 GT cars on hand for the 250 mile race. Then, in Grand Am’s first-ever qualifying race to determine starting positions for race day, rain and unfortunate timing played a role in the team’s 17th place starting spot.

Race day saw both the weather and the team’s confidence improve as they had overcome the problems and were ready to go. Arnold and Miller stayed in contention early and the crew had excellent pit stops. The only drawback to an otherwise good run was the bad timing of a full-course caution, which caused several GT cars to lose a lap to the leaders and fall out of contention. Staying out of the way of the tightly packed Daytona Prototype race for the overall win was also a challenge.

After the VIR race, team management has decided to forego the next few races on the Grand Am schedule and spend some time on development and testing of the Corvette. ASC Motorsports plans to use the time to make some chassis and aerodynamic improvements, concentrating on being ready to contend for a podium finish in the team’s home race at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course on June 24th.

The ASC Motorsports Corvette C6 was designed and built by Arnold Machine, Inc. in Tiffin, Ohio. Gressman Powersports in Fremont, Ohio builds and maintains the team’s LS6 engines.

ASC Motorsports was sponsored at VIR by ascmotorsports.com, by Arnold Machine, Inc. of Tiffin, Ohio (www.arnoldmachine.com) and by Rubbn’Repair™ of Dayton, Ohio.

Rubbn’Repair™ is a quick and effective pit repair system for hoods, fenders and body panels.
Tiffin, Oh – April 14, 2006 ASC Motorsports of Tiffin, Ohio is headed to VIRginia International Raceway in Alton, Virginia for round five of the Grand American Rolex Sports Car Series. The 250 mile race on the scenic, rolling 3.27 mile circuit takes the green flag Sunday, April 23rd at 1:00 PM.

The team has recovered from the disappointment of Homestead, where a broken rear end gear put the ASC Motorsports Corvette C6 out of the race just after the green flag waved. Arnold Machine, Inc. has replaced the rear end, inspected the entire drive train and declared the car ready for VIR. The team recently tested at the long and hilly southern Virginia race track and is looking for a good race.

Sportscar ace Johnny Miller from Richmond, Virginia once again joins team owner Zach Arnold in the cockpit, a pairing that has developed into a very effective development and driving team. Both drivers provide good feedback to the crew about the car’s power and handling characteristics, and the crew uses the information effectively to change the setup to suit the track and weather conditions. This driver and crew combination continues to produce consistently faster practice sessions at each race.

VIR practice gets underway Thursday, April 20th with a promoter’s test day. Official practice begins Friday, April 21st followed by a final practice session and qualifying on Saturday, April 22nd. In a first for the Rolex Series, qualifying will consist of separate 30-minute qualifying races for the Daytona Prototypes and the GT class. The GT qualifying race is set for Saturday afternoon at 12:30 PM.
The 250 mile race takes the green flag at 1:00 PM on Sunday, April 23rd. SPEED Channel will broadcast the race live and Grand Am will provide live timing and scoring on their website at http://www.grandamerican.com

The team arrived at Daytona International Speedway with very high expectations, but the drivers, crew and fans were disappointed with the outcome as the #55 Corvette C6 was forced to withdraw from the race in the 7th hour due to irreparable damage sustained in two off-course incidents.

In the team’s second Rolex 24, the drivers included team owner Zach Arnold of Tiffin, Ohio; Trans Am ace Johnny Miller from Richmond, Virginia; 12-time road racing champion Jay Poscente of Calgary, Alberta, Canada; local driver and frequent Daytona 24 entrant Mark Montgomery; and Avon, Indiana’s Eric Koselke, the 1999 Indy Lights champion.

The engineers at Arnold Machine, Inc. of Tiffin, Ohio had done an outstanding job preparing the car for the rigors of the twice-around-the-clock endurance race. The team was among the GT leaders on the first day of practice, turning in the 12th fastest lap among 39 GT entries in the third session.

The second practice day did not go as well. The car sustained serious damage when a tire exploded minutes into the first session. The crew did an outstanding job repairing the Corvette and getting it ready for race day. But, because a new nose and fender had to be shipped from the manufacturer, the team missed qualifying and had to start from the rear of the field.

Arnold took the green flag from the 66th starting spot (36th in the GT class field). He quickly began moving up through the field as the car ran well and handled easily. Flawless pit stops combined with a very quick driver change gave the team increased confidence in a good finish as the race unfolded.

By lap 22, the #55 Corvette had moved into 57th position overall and was running competitive race laps when the car slid off the track into the turn 5 barrier, causing severe damage. When the car got back into the garage, the crew quickly set about repairing the suspension and fixing the bodywork.

The team made good use of the new Rubbn’Repair™ patch kit quickly fixing several cracks and holes in the body panels. Interested bystanders, including a number of crew members from other teams, marveled at the ease with which the body panels were restored to their original shape and strength.

Once again, the crew did an outstanding job getting the car race-ready. Back in the competition in the third hour with Poscente at the wheel, the team began to make up for lost time. After just a few laps, Poscente radioed in that the car felt good and that there seemed to be no problems. Later in his stint, the crew had to deal with an oil leak, but they got it fixed and back on the track in short order.

Then, late in the 5th hour, the gremlins struck again as a tire came apart, damaging the left front suspension and tearing up the fender before the car came to a stop. The crew quickly repaired the suspension and sent the car back on the track without the fender. Although aerodynamically challenged, the Corvette was still in the race and making up time.

The new motor from Gressman Powersports in Fremont, Ohio stood up to the test. After the second visit to the garage for repairs, even without the left front fender which seriously affected the handling, Arnold was turning in competitive lap times. At one point he exclaimed on the team radio, “This engine is the best it’s been all year.”

Late in the 6th hour, Montgomery radioed in that the handling had suddenly gone away and drove the car into the garage. After attempting to fix the problem, the crew found that the suspension damage could not be repaired in the garage and would need to be rebuilt in the team’s Tiffin, Ohio race shop.

Despite the major disappointment of retiring from the Rolex 24 in the 7th hour, ASC Motorsports had accomplished a great deal at Daytona. The team fielded a very good race car, the drivers showed that it could be competitive, and the crew proved once again that they’re among the best in the series.

In a post-race interview, Arnold lauded the efforts of the crew throughout the month of January. “The crew did an amazing job recovering from the incidents and working together as a team to get a safe and competitive car back on the track. We’ll get it fixed and make a better showing next time out.”

Miller put it all in perspective, saying, “The car was really fast and we just got caught up in a myriad of bad fortune.”

Discussing his outing with ASC Motorsports, Koselke commented, “I enjoyed it. I really liked the crew; they’re very professional. We just ran into bad luck.”

Poscente said he enjoyed working with the team and believed the team was better than the result, saying “We had a podium car, but just ran into some bad luck – that’s racing!”

Echoing the sentiments of all the drivers, Montgomery said, “The car was fast and easy to drive. With a little luck, it’s easily a podium race car.”

Crew Chief Nick Silardi praised the crew, saying they had done a great job working together as a team, every crew member doing his part to overcome a series of problems and give the drivers a good, competitive, safe race car. They had done everything possible to get the car back in the race, but the problems were insurmountable. Silardi told the crew they could be proud of their efforts.
