Johnny's Notes On Qualifying At Lime Rock 2002

JOHNNY QUALIFIED SIXTH FOR MONDAY’S TRANS-AM RACE WITH A TIME OF 52:924. His comments were… “We warmed the tires up nicely and I drove pretty aggressively. But it seemed like a completely different track from this morning. There was just no grip out there this afternoon. I just couldn’t get it going. I’m fighting for grip. We’ve got to change something. I don’t know if it’s me or the car, we’ll go look at the data. We’re only off a couple of tenths, but that’s a huge thing here.

“We just didn’t piece it together completely today. We’ll lean on it a little and look for some more in the final practice session (A 20 minute session Monday morning) before the race.

Johnny’s Lime Rock Stats… Has four starts at Lime Rock…In the last Trans-Am race at Lime Rock, he qualified eighth and finished fourth – his best Lime Rock finish…Best qualifying effort – second in 1998, led laps 3-9 and 13-15, finished sixth.

The race is televised live on SPEED channel Monday at 3PM.
